Bright Feathers

by Andrew Lockwood age 9
(Papua New Guinea)

Bright feathers,

Long Beak,

Large flowers

He seeks.

Little as can be.

Working all day,

Flapping his wings

Without a delay.

Spreading pollen all around,

Not making much sound.

Piercing a flower,

With much power.

The smallest you will ever see.

Andrew, you did awesome in writing this beautiful poem of the hummingbird...my favorite smallest bird that feeds at my hummingbird feeder near my kitchen window every day.

Well Done
by: Jody Hehn

Andrew, your poem was well written and I could visualize all the things you wrote about the hummingbird. They are one of my favorites to watch and your description in poetry was wonderful.
