Hummingbirds in Cantonment, Florida 2016

They are all over the neighborhood! Even though many people have feeders displayed, there aren't enough to keep them from chasing one another away because they are very protective of what they consider their territory.

The one photo I am uploading tells it all.

We still have a few Ruby hummingbirds at the feeders which is normal for us in NW Arkansa. However usually during the last of Aug and part of Sept we have a hoard of Hummers feeding, but this year we have only had a few consistently but only 4 to 6 at a time at the most. One day we had 8 to 10 but that was it, that was the most we have had. Very unusual.
Does anyone have any ideas why??
