This video was captured by Chris Kosho and here is his summary of the event.

El Silencio Lodge in Costa Rica is an amazing place. I highly recommend that anyone vacationing there spend a few nights there.

Part of El Silencio's enormous mountainous property is a hummingbird garden called "The Knot." I spent about an hour there chasing these beautiful creatures hoping for a good photograph, but they proved too fast for me. I was about ready to give up when I decided to ask God for one opportunity to capture a video of a hummingbird. I set the camera down on a wooden post and focused on a random flower. I took a seat nearby and watched, not really certain that one would even come by. Sure enough, within a couple of minutes this amazing hummingbird flew by! It was definitely a miracle that of all the flowers in the garden, the hummingbird would choose the same one I did! God hears.

Back at the reception area the day we were leaving, I showed the video to a waiter who explained to me that this is a "Volcano Hummingbird," named for it's orange color.

Coming back to Austin, I decided to get a hummingbird feeder for the balcony at my apartment. Who knows, maybe one day I'll catch another one on video.
