I love hummingbirds

I love hummingbirds



My mother in law said that I will not attract hummingbirds while living in the city. This for most men is a challenge sent down from the in laws that cannot be ignored! My daughter was eight months old and one day in August my mother in law paid us a visit, the hummingbirds were flying around my daughters head and I wish I had a picture of Mary's mouth wide open!

Did you ever think that your daughter might be a hummingbird whisperer? Children are so innocent and they seem to attract wild creatures. I have three daughters and every time we go out they are surrounded by butterflies. I had wondered if they might be butterfly whisperers. It is wonderful that you have hummingbirds and your mother-in-law was wrong. What about the Law of Attraction, just believe and your wishes will come true. It's all about positive thinking. Like I said, children are natural positive thinkers and the natural world seems to know that.

You can have hummingbirds in the city. I live in Chicago and had hummingbirds on my deck. We have birds in the city. Why wouldn't we?
I love watching my hummingbirds. When my grand children come to visit me, they always ask if they can watch them with me.

I live in NYC and have hummingbirds. As long as you can put out some plants and a hummingbird feeder you can probably get hummingbirds. I didn't get any hummingbirds the first year that I moved to my apartment. The second year they came. I am from MA. So I really missed my hummingbirds when I moved for my job. Now I get them every summer. I am always sad to see them go in September.

Yes Mary I do enjoy your photograph. It is lovely. I have a plant also. However, I have tried many times to get a photo of the hummingbird taking nectar from it. I just never could do this. Wish I had your ability. It is a nice picture to look at. I guess I should try harder. My hummingbird comes to that plant everyday. I can't remember the name of it.
