My Favorite Time of the Day
by Debby Riebe
(Weatherford, Texas, USA)
I love watching my hummingbirds at the feeders in our back yard.
I live in north TX too, and have at least 3 birds visiting my feeders. The black headed one-is that a black chinned or a ruby throat? Also, the other bird looks like one that visits too and is hard for me to identify. I think its a female because of the white tips on the tail, but don't know which type of hummer she is. Any help with these would be appreciated.

Question by: Tabitha
First, those really are beautiful pictures. You have a gift. I am currently living in Weahterford, about 15 minutes from Weatherford Regional. I do live in an area with duplexes. Do you think that I can still attract hummingbirds? If so, how do I go about it? Do I just put out nectar, or should I do something else? Also, is it better to have more feeders and and/or large ones? Can you tell that I have no idea about hummingbirds? I just think they are really pretty. Any help that you can give me is greatly appreciated.

Love the photographs. That is a nice feeder too. Everything about your pictures is beautiful. I live in Massachusetts so I have Ruby-throated hummingbirds. I can't wait until they return in April.I think I'll get a pretty feeder this year. The lovely hummingbirds deserve it. I have 3 feeders out and get about 8 hummingbirds. They are like friends. They are always there and make me feel happy when I see them

Those are pretty pictures. Did you get rain? I heard there was a drought in Texas. I love to just sit out on my back porch and wait for the hummingbirds to come to my feeder. I don't know if I can get a picture. They are so quick.
