We often gaze out our den window in Toluca Lake, CA into the garden beyond. There in the distance is the children's slide that we covered in flowers and the Buddha just beyond that near the ficus grove. But this week we set our gazes much closer for some reason and happened to see a tiny hummingbird's nest only inches from our faces on the other side of the window. There, suspended on a thin ivy vine, was this tiny nest with its proud owner in attendance.

She must have been building that nest for quite awhile right under our noses.

Crafty little creatures!
