HUMMER LOVE

Several years ago I was in my kitchen.
I had red begonias in my greenhouse window.
Suddenly here were two or three captivating hummingbirds trying to get to the begonias through the glass.
I told my then husband I'm going to buy hummingbird feeders and to quote a very famous line from a movie; if you build it....they will come.....and did they ever.
I recently saw a documentary on pbs about these amazing little birds....who couldn't love them?

For years now my husband and I have taken care or our back yard, home to several resident hummers and so many migrating ones. We keep at least two feeders up year round for the resident buff-belly hummers. Several years ago a pair of beautiful hooded orioles started showing up at the feeders! Wow! Amazing photos of these beautiful birds and of course the hummers from my kitchen window! The Ruby-troated hummers are arriving--have counted six of them. Also a pair of Baltimore Orioles showed up recently also at the feeders. They bring us such joy and entertainment. We're up to 5 feeders and usually max out at 13!! We just keep making that sugar water and enjoying our view. At it's peak it looks like a hummer airport out there. Just AWESOME!
