Julia's Hummingbird Poem

by Julia Manolios - Age 7
(Floral Park, NY)

Hummingbirds flying over my garden
as I stare out the window, watching them go,
As happy as can be,
I did smile and laugh,
and a hummingbird heard me laugh,
as I ran outside and hugged it,
the hummingbird didn't mind,
and called it's family,
I hugged them, too,
just before they chirped a friendly good-bye
and scurried away.
